Adani Energy Solutions wins Rs. 2,800 Cr. Transmission Project in Gujarat


Adani Energy Solutions Ltd (AESL), India’s private transmission and distribution company and part of the Adani group, has secured a power transmission project in Mundra, Gujarat. This project will be developed at an estimated cost of Rs. 2,800 crore.

Adani Energy Solutions has won this project through Tariff Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) route. Earlier this month, Adani Energy Solutions acquired Mundra I Transmission Limited (MITL), the executing Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) for this project.

Details of Rs. 2,800 Cr. Transmission Project in Gujarat

Scope of work in this project includes augmenting capacity at Navinal substation in Mundra by adding two transformers, which can transform voltage from 765 KV to 400 KV. The company will also be responsible for laying 75 Km-long 765 KV DC transmission line from Navinal substation to Bhuj substation in Gujarat.

This transmission project is expected to be completed within a period of 36 months.

Adani Energy to Expand Transmission Network with New Project in Gujarat

Adani Energy Solutions has set a target to grow its transmission network to 30,000 circuit Km (cKm) by 2030. The above-mentioned transmission project will add 150 circuit Km of transmission lines and 3,000 Megavolt-Amperes (MVA) of transformation capacity to AESL’s exisitng network. The company currently operates a transmission network of 25,928 circuit Km with 87,186 MVA transformation capacity. The company serves about 13 million consumers in Mumbai and Mundra Special Economic Zone (SEZ) through its electricity distribution business.

As per Adani Energy Solutions’ press release, this is the company’s sixth order win this financial year, taking its order book to Rs 57,561 crore. One of the major order win of the company includes securing Rs. 25,000 crore High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) transmission project in Rajasthan in December 2024.
