Hindustan Zinc Appoints Amarendu Prakash as CEO

Hindustan Zinc Limited has appointed Mr. Amarendu Prakash as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The appointment was announced through the company’s stock exchange filing dated 19th June 2026.

Mr. Prakash holds a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) degree in Metallurgical Engineering from BIT Sindri, where he studied between 1987 and 1991. He later pursued a programme in Business Administration and Management at XLRI Jamshedpur in 1992.

He began his career with Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) in 1991 and has spent several decades with the organisation in various roles. Mr. Amarendu Prakash started as an Operations Manager and Technical Expert, a position he held for more than ten years.

Over the course of his career at SAIL, he took on several responsibilities, including serving as Chief Business Advisor to the Chairman. He also held the positions of Director and Chairman.
