Crompton Wins Rs. 445 Cr. Rooftop Solar Order, Its Largest Yet

Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Ltd. has won an order worth Rs. 445 crore, as stated in their press release dated 24 October 2025. This win represents Crompton’s largest-ever solar rooftop order.

Scope of work in this order is to install rooftop solar units for 40,000 households. This order has a cumulative capacity of 77 MW where each on-grid rooftop system will have a 2 KW capacity. Crompton has secured this order within two months of entering the solar rooftop market.

Mr. Shaleen Nayak, Business Unit Head – Lighting, Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Ltd., said, “This project highlights our energy-efficient solar solutions at scale, covering over 40,000 households. Our team will manage the complete process, ensuring quality and consistency across every site.”

As per Crompton’s press release, the solar rooftop market is currently sized at approximately Rs. 20,000-25,000 crore, expected to grow at over 20% annually. Additionally, Mordor Intelligence’s analysis suggests there will be a growth in the Indian solar rooftop market at a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 18.73%, from 2025 to 2030.
