DRA Infracon – Siemens JV Wins S&T Contract for Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train

A consortium among Dineshchandra R Agrawal (DRA) Infracon Pvt. Ltd., Siemens Ltd., and Germany’s Siemens Mobility GmbH has received a Signalling and Telecommunications (S&T) contract from National High Speed Rail Corporation Ltd. This contract will be executed at a total estimated cost of Rs. 4,140.06 crore on package S-1 of Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail (MAHSR) project, popularly known as Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train project.

Scope of work in this package includes design, manufacture, supply, installation and integration of signalling & train control systems, telecommunication systems, and operation control centre systems for the Mumbai Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Project. The consortium will also be responsible for testing and commissioning of these respective systems. European Train Control System (ETCS) Level 2-based signalling will be provided by Siemens under this contract, which is capable of handling train speeds upto 350 Kmph. This radio-based signalling system will be capable of providing real-time monitoring as well as wireless connectivity, and centralised control for the MAHSR project.

Aforementioned works are expected to be completed in a period of 54 months. Additionaly, Siemens will provide maintenance services for these systems for a period of 15 years.

DRA Infracon-Seimens JV bested a JV between Alstom and L&T to secure this contract.
