Raj Kumar Takes Additional Charge as CMD of SJVN

Mr. Raj Kumar Chaudhary, currently serving as Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of NHPC, has assumed additional charge as CMD of SJVN Limited. This information was shared by SJVN in its stock filing dated 28th November 2024.

Mr. Chaudhary completed his Bachelor of Engineering in 1987 in Civil Engineering from Birsa Institute of Technology (BIT) situated in Sindri, Jharkhand.

Mr. Raj Kumar Chaudhary started his career in 1989 as Probationary Executive (Civil) at NHPC. He also served as NHPC’s Director (Technical) from 2015 to 2024. He was then promoted to the company’s apex position as its CMD in August 2024. Mr. Chaudhary has worked at various positions which include those in the cost engineering department, and design & engineering department of NHPC. Notably, he has handled four construction Projects of NHPC, namely Koel-Karo project in Jharkhand, Kaplong Hydroelectric project in Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Teesta-V project in Sikkim and Subansiri lower dam in Arunachal Pradesh.

Mr. Chaudhary is also serving as Chairman and Nominee Director on the Board of NHDC Ltd. and Loktak Downstream Hydroelectric Corporation Ltd., both of which are subsidiaries of NHPC.
