Waaree Forays into Electrolyser Manufacturing with New Plant in Gujarat

Waaree Group, one of the India’s largest solar module manufacturer, is developing its first Green Hydrogen electrolyser manufacturing plant. The upcoming facility will be located in Valsad,Gujarat.

Waaree will construct its new electrolyser plant in different phases. Under phase 1 of development, the company will manufacture 300 MW of alkaline electrolysers per annum. Commenting on this development, Mr. Anuj Sharma, CEO, Waaree Clean Energy Solutions said “Through the development of this advanced facility, we aim to empower industries, create new jobs, and contribute to a sustainable, greener future”. However, the company has not disclosed anything about the second phase development of the plant.

The electrolysers manufactured at this upcoming plant will be supplied to various industries, including steel, refining, transportation, fertilizers, chemicals, and power generation for green hydrogen production. According to the company’s official press release, these electrolysers will consume low power and require minimal maintenance.

The company has also recently won Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme for 300 MW electrolyser manufacturing capacity.
