Waaree Energies Inaugurates India’s largest Solar Cell Factory in Gujarat

Waaree Energies has inaugurated India’s largest solar cell manufacturing plant at Chikhli in Gujarat. The company has invested Rs. 2,500 crore for developing this plant.

Waaree Energies’ new plant is capable of manufacturing about 5.4 GW of solar cell every year. This 150-acre plant has the capability to manufacture 4 GW of TOPCon and 1.4 GW of Mono PERC solar cells annually. The company had started trial production at its Chikhli plant in January 2025.

Mr. Hitesh Doshi, Chairman and Managing Director of Waaree Energies, said, “Today, with the launch of our 5.4 GW solar cell gigafactory in Chikhli, Waaree is laying the foundational cornerstone of India’s energy independence and technological renaissance”.

Waaree Energies targets to increase its solar cell manufacturing capacity to 11 GW by the end of FY-27 from the current capacity of manufacturing about 5.4 GW of solar cells.
