Tata Solar Secures 5,500 Cr EPC Order from SJVN

Tata Solar, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tata Power for its solar energy operations, has secured an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) order worth Rs 5,500 crore from Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam (SJVN). The order is for a 1 GW solar project situated in Rajasthan, which will be completed within 24 months.

This solar project will be developed under CPSU (Central Public Sector Undertaking) scheme of the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE), and will make use of ‘Make in India’ solar cells and solar modules. The project will cover about 5,000 acres of land, and generate about 2,500 million units of solar power per year.

The project targets to reduce annual carbon emissions by around 22,87,128 Kg.
