Tata Power Targets 10,000 MW Renewable Portfolio in Rajasthan over Five Years
In a press release dated 7th October 2022, Tata Power stated that the company has set a target to expand its Renewable Energy (RE) portfolio in Rajasthan to 10,000 MW from the current 4,939 MW in the next 5 years.
Tata Power stated that the company, along with its subsidiary Tata Power Solar, has planned 8,000 MW of solar utility projects and 1,000 MW of rooftop solar projects in the coming five years. The company also envisages installation of 1,50,000 solar pumps in Rajasthan during this period.
Tata Power already employs 4,500 people in Rajasthan, and with this expansion, the number of employees will increase by 6,000-8,000.
As per the company, apart from RE projects, Tata Power will also be setting up 10,000 public EV charging points in Rajasthan in the coming few years.
