Tata Power Receives LoI for Acquisition of Jalpura Khurja Power Transmission

Tata Power Company Limited has received a Letter of Intent (LoI) from REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited for the acquisition of Jalpura Khurja Power Transmission, a project Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV). This acquisition is valued at Rs. 838 crore and will be an addition in Tata Power’s western U.P. transmission portfolio.

This project entails construction of four Gas Insulated substations (GIS), each with a capacity of 500 MVA. These substations will step-down from 400 KV to 220 KV. Two of these substations will be located at Metro Depot in Greater Noida, while the other two will be established in Jalpura, Greater Noida. This project will be executed on Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT) basis.

The acquired SPV is expected to provide transmission service for a period of 35 years, commencing 18 months after the date of acquisition.
