Suzlon Group Wins 642 MW Wind Power Project from ABC Cleantech

Suzlon Group has secured an order from ABC Cleantech Pvt. Ltd. to develop a 642 MW wind power project in Andhra Pradesh. This information was shared by Suzlon Energy Limited in its press release dated 30th January 2024.

Suzlon will install and supply 214 Wind Turbine Generators (WTGs) from its S144‐140m series. Each of these turbines will have 3 MW generation capacity and a hub height of 140m. These WTGs will be mounted on a Hybrid Lattice Tubular (HLT)* tower which will also be supplied by Suzlon. Post-commissioning, Suzlon will also provide Operation & Maintenance (O&M) services for this project.

*A Hybrid Lattice Tubular (HLT) tower is used to mount wind turbine generator to the desired height. It consists of three components, namely a lattice tower, transition piece, and the tubular tower. The lattice tower is assembled on-site by welding steel profiles just above the foundation of the HLT tower, while the tubular tower forms the top part of the HLT tower. These two sections of the HLT tower are connected by means of a transition piece.
