Suzlon Group Secures Order to Supply 175 WTGs from Aditya Birla Group

Suzlon Group has won an order from Aditya Birla Group for supplying 175 Wind Turbine Generators (WTGs), each with a rated capacity of 3.15 MW. The company will supply these turbines with a Hybrid Lattice Tubular* (HLT) tower. This information was shared by Suzlon Group in its press release dated 29th May 2024.

Suzlon will supply S144‐140m wind turbines of 551.25 MW collective power capacity for captive requirements of Aditya Birla Group. Out of the total, 368.55 MW of wind turbines will be supplied to a wind power site in Barmer district of Rajasthan. Additionally, Suzlon will also install, execute, and commission this wind power plant.

The remaining 182.70 MW of WTGs will be installed in Bhuj district of Gujarat. Apart from supplying these WTGs, Suzlon will supervise and commission them at the Bhuj wind power site for Aditya Birla Group.

Further, Suzlon will be responsible for Operation & Maintenance (O&M) of wind turbines at both the aforementioned sites.

Commenting on this win, Mr. JP Chalasani, Chief Executive Officer, Suzlon Group, said “This order will enable us to further strengthen our presence in Rajasthan and Gujarat while helping the states unlock their true wind energy potential”.

*A Hybrid Lattice Tubular (HLT) tower is used to mount wind turbine generator to the desired height. It consists of three components, namely a lattice tower, transition piece, and the tubular tower. The lattice tower is assembled on-site by welding steel profiles just above the foundation of the HLT tower, while the tubular tower forms the top part of the HLT tower. These two sections of the HLT tower are connected by means of a transition piece.
