Suzlon Energy Secures 300 MW Wind Energy Project from Torrent Power

Suzlon Energy Ltd. has secured an order from Torrent Power Limited to develop a wind power project of 300 MW capacity. This project will be developed in Karnataka.

Scope of work for Suzlon Energy includes supply and installation of 100 Wind Turbine Generators (WTGs), each of 3 MW capacity. Each of these WTGs will be supplied with a Hybrid Lattice Tubular (HLT)* tower. Post-commissioning, Suzlon will also provide Operation & Maintenance (O&M) services for this project.

This upcoming project is expected to be commissioned by 2025.

*A Hybrid Lattice Tubular (HLT) tower is used to mount wind turbine generator to the desired height. It consists of three components, namely a lattice tower, transition piece, and the tubular tower. The lattice tower is assembled on-site by welding steel profiles just above the foundation of the HLT tower, while the tubular tower forms the top part of the HLT tower. These two sections of the HLT tower are connected by means of a transition piece.
