Sunny Opotech to Set Up USD 300 Mn. Camera Factory in India for Apple

Sunny Opotech India Pvt. Ltd., a subsidiary of China’s Sunny Optical Technology will be setting up a greenfield factory with an investment of about USD 300 million, to manufacture camera modules for Apple iPhones and laptops. Mr. Welly Liu, President of Sunny Opotech India gave this information during an interview with The Hindu Businessline.

Mr. Liu explained that the new unit will be developed in phases, and will be ready by 2026. This upcoming facility will exclusively manufacture for Apple and is expected to commence operations in 2024 after initial test run of the products in China.
