SJVN’s Q2 FY-23 PAT 10% Up YoY to Rs. 445.44 Cr, But Power Generation Down

Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam (SJVN), a Joint Venture between the Govt. of India and the Govt. of Himachal Pradesh, has posted a consolidated Profit After Tax (PAT) of Rs. 445.44 crore. This is 10% higher on a Year-over-Year (YoY) basis from the Rs. 404.72 crore profit clocked by SJVN in Q2 of FY-22.

This increase in profit comes despite the YoY decrease of 1% in the company’s Q2 income to Rs. 916.25 crore. Moreover, SJVN reported a YoY decline of 8% in its Q2 sales from its Renewable Energy (RE) business.

During Q2 of the ongoing financial year, the company reported a 17% YoY decrease in the number of units of solar power generated. For wind power, there was a YoY decrease of 12% in generation during the same period. Hydropower generation by the company saw a YoY decrease of 1.61% in the second quarter of 2022-23.
