SJVN Secures 200 MW Solar Project Worth 1,200 Crore in Maharashtra
Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam (SJVN), a joint venture between Govt of India and Government of Himachal Pradesh, has won a 200 MW ground-mounted solar project order from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd. (MSEDCL). The estimated cost of this project is Rs. 1,200 crore.
As per SJVN’s stock filing dated 5th August 2022, the company has won the contract with a quoted tariff of Rs. 2.90 per unit, and will develop this project on a Build-Own-Operate (BOO) basis. The e-reverse auction for this project was conducted on 4th August 2022. SJVN is yet to receive Letter of Intent (LoI) from MSEDCL, after which the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for 25 years will be signed. This project will be commissioned within 18 months from date of signing of the PPA.
SJVN further stated that this project will generate 455.52 Million Units (MUs) of power in the first year post commissioning, and a total of 10480.82 MUs in a period of 25 years post commissioning.
