SECI Floats Tender to Develop 4.5 Lakh Tonne Green Hydrogen Capacity in India

Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has floated a tender for the development of 4.5 Lakh tonne Green Hydrogen generation capacity in India. This tender will be executed under Strategic Interventions for Green Hydrogen Transition (SIGHT) scheme.

As per the tender document, 4.1 lakh tonne of Green Hydrogen out of the total tendered capacity will be generated using technology agnostic pathways (bucket 1). This means that generators who are awarded Green Hydrogen capacity under this bucket will be free to use technology of their choosing to set up their facilities. The remaining 40,000 tonne of Green Hydrogen capacity under this tender will be developed using biomass-based pathways (bucket 2). Minimum bid capacity under bucket 1 for any bidder is 10,000 tonne and the maximum is 90,000 tonne. In bucket 2, minimum bidding capacity is 500 tonne and maximum is 4,000 tonne.
