SAIL Appoints Pranoy Roy as Independent Director

Mr. Pranoy Roy’s appointment as Steel Authority of India Ltd. (SAIL)‘s Independent Director has been approved by the company’s Board of Directors. The company shared this information in its stock filing dated 9th July 2025. Mr. Roy had been nominated for this role by the Government of India vide an order dated 3rd July 2025.

Mr. Roy will serve as the company’s Independent Director for a period of three years. He holds bachelor’s degrees in Commerce (B.Com) and Law (LLB). He is a seasoned tax and legal consultant with over 25 years of experience in corporate law, NGO compliance, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) advisory, Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA) matters, and Income Tax issues.
