RVNL Wins 167 Cr. Electrification Contract from South Eastern Railway

Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd. (RVNL) has been awarded a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) for railway electrification works worth Rs. 167.28 crore from South Eastern Railway. The order secured is for upgradation of existing traction system in the Rajkharsawan – Nayagarh – Bolani section of South Eastern Railway’s Chakradharpur division.

Scope of work in this project includes upgrading the existing 1 X 25 KV traction system in the aforementioned section to 2 x 25 KV. Designing, supplying, installing, testing, and commissioning of the new system is included in the scope of work of this project. The tender also specifies that these works are a step towards achieving Indian Railways’ 2027 loading target of 3,000 Million Tonnes (MT).

The project is scheduled to be completed in about 18 months.
