RVNL Receives LoA for Nagpur Metro Station Construction Contract

Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd. (RVNL) has received a Letter of Award (LoA) from Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Limited for construction works on Nagpur Metro Rail Project (NMRP) phase-2. The company had emerged Lowest (L1) bidder for this project in October 2024.

As per RVNL’s press release dated 16th December 2024, the company will be responsible for constructing ten elevated metro stations for Nagpur Metro at an estimated cost of Rs. 270 crore.

The company will construct seven of these stations on Reach 3A of the Nagpur Metro while the remaining three stations will be developed at Reach 4A of the Nagpur Metro. Reach 3A is 6.6 Km long while Reach 4A is 5.5 Km in length.

Scope of work in this project includes design and construction of ten elevated metro stations in reach 3A and 4A of Nagpur Metro phase 2 project. The seven stations in reach 3A of Nagpur Metro Ph 2 will be developed at Hingna Mount View, Rajiv Nagar, Wanadongri, APMC, Raipur, Hingna Bus Station and Hingna. Three elevated stations, namely, Pardi, Kapsi Khurd, and Transport Nagar will be constructed in Nagpur metro’s reach 4A.

This project will be completed in a period of 30 months (2 years and 6 months).

In April 2023, Maharashtra government approved an investment of Rs. 6,708 crore for phase-2 of the Nagpur Metro project. The entire phase-2 project is expected to be completed by 2026.
