Premier Energies Expands into Transformers, Solar Inverters with Acquisitions

Premier Energies Limited, a Solar Cell and Solar Module manufacturer, has forayed into transformer manufacturing and expanded its Renewable Energy (RE) portfolio by means of acquisitions. The company shared this information in its two separate stock filings dated 23rd October 2025.
Premier Energies Enters Transformer Manufacturing Segment
Premier Energies has entered the transformer manufacturing sector with the board approval for acquisition of 51% stake in Transcon Ind Limited for Rs. 500.3 crore. The company has specified cash as the mode of payment for this acquisition.
Commenting on the acquisition, Mr. Chiranjeev Saluja, Managing Director and CEO of Premier Energies Limited, said, “The acquisition allows us to move further downstream, offering integrated and bundled solutions to power producers, DISCOMs, and industrial customers, while shifting focus toward the higher-value MV, HV, and EHV segments over time”.
About Transcon Ind Limited
Established in 2025, Transcon Ind Limited is a producer of transformers and stabilizers, manufacturing a comprehensive range of products including 33 KV solar inverter transformers, and distribution transformers in 33 KV, 11KV, 3.3KV and 6.6 KV. Apart from this, the company also manufactures specialty transformers designed for both power distribution and industrial clients.
Currently, Transcon operates with a transformer manufacturing capacity of 2.5 GVA per annum. This capacity is being expanded by the company, and is expected to reach 4.25 GVA per annum by January 2026. Transcon Ind is undertaking this expansion project with an investment of Rs. 40 crore.
Premier Energies Strengthens RE Portfolio with Acquisition of KSolare Energy
Apart from acquiring Transcon, Premier Energies has also announced the acquisition of a 51% stake in KSolare Energy Private Limited to expand its Renewable Energy portfolio. The company confirmed Rs. 86.7 crore as the acquisition cost, with cash as the mode of payment. This move will expand Premier Energies’ range of product offerings to include solar inverters as well.
The remaining 49% stake in KSolare Energy Pvt. Ltd. will be acquired by Syrma SGS Technologies Limited.

Strategic Acquisitions by Premier Energies
The recent acquisitions by Premier Energies come at a time when both the Indian transformers market as well as Indian solar inverter market are poised to grow. This growth in demand is catalysed by large-scale infrastructure and renewable energy projects across the country.
According to a report by Mordor Intelligence dated 12th October 2025, the Indian Transformer Market is estimated at USD 3 billion in 2025 and is expected to reach USD 4.47 billion by 2030, growing at a CAGR of 8.33%. Additionally, a GMI Research report highlights that the solar inverter market, valued at around USD 173.8 million in 2025, is projected to grow to USD 385.8 million by 2035, at a CAGR of 8.3%.
