Power Demand in India Reaches All-Time High of 197 GW
Ministry of Power, Govt. Of India on 6th July 2021 tweeted that power demand in India had touched an all-time peak of 197.06 GW at 11.43 a.m. and the demand had been fulfilled. Power ministry owed this demand peak to high temperatures in many states due to delayed monsoon and easing of coronavirus-related restrictions.
Before this, Union Power Minister, Mr. R.K. Singh in January 2021 predicted power demand reaching 200 GW very soon. The power demand reached 189 GW on 30th January 2021.
