PGCIL Secures Inter-State Transmission Project for Krishnagiri REZ Phase-I

Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) has emerged as successfull bidder under Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) framework to develop Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) in Southern India.

The company received Letter of Intent (LoI) for “Transmission System for integration of Krishnagiri REZ Phase-I” project on a Build, Own, Operate, and Transfer basis (BOOT). This project is specifically designed to evacuate 4.5 GW of renewable energy from Krishnagiri Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) in Andhra Pradesh.

Under this project, PGCIL will undertake the establishment of two new sub-stations with a voltage rating of 765/400kV in Andhra Pradesh.

In addition to sub-stations, the company will also construct 765kV & 400kV transmission lines alongside associated bays. These Transmission lines will traverse through Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Karnataka.
