PGCIL Board Approves Rs. 4,781 Cr. Worth of Investments

Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL or POWERGRID) board has approved investments of Rs. 4,781.10 crore. The company stated this information in its stock filing dated 15^th July 2023.

Out of the total amount, Rs. 4,067.27 crore has been sanctioned for execution of Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) projects. POWERGRID Energy Services Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of PGCIL, will be executing these projects.

Further, the PGCIL board also approved an investment of Rs. 713.83 crore to develop a pilot data centre. This data centre will be developed at the company’s substation in Manesar, Haryana by its fully-owned subsidiary, Powergrid Teleservices Ltd.
