NLC India & IndianOil to Jointly Develop RE Projects in Tamil Nadu
NLC India Limited (NLCIL) and Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a Joint Venture (JV) for developing Renewable Energy (RE) projects in Tamil Nadu.
NLC India, known for lignite mining, is expanding its RE portfolio through solar and wind power projects. Indian Oil is also diversifying beyond conventional fuels by investing in renewable energy, biofuels, and electric mobility infrastructure.
As per the signed agreement, the JV company will develop solar, wind, and hybrid renewable energy projects across Tamil Nadu. The projects will also incorporate energy storage solutions, including Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and pumped storage facilities, based on requirements.
Apart from RE developments in Tamil Nadu, NLC India signed agreements for developing RE projects in Maharashtra and 1,000 MW of solar power projects in Assam.
