NHAI Floats Tender for Rs. 971.81 Cr. Highway Project under Bharatmala Pariyojana

National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has invited bids for four-laning of existing Abohar – Fazilka highway, and for the construction of greenfield four-laned Abohar bypass road. The estimated value of this project has been pegged at Rs. 971.81 crore.

Scope of work as per the tender entails four-laning of existing 31.58 Km long stretch of State Highway (SH-20) connecting Abohar and Fazilka in Punjab. Construction of 6.38 Km long greenfield four-laned Abohar bypass road is also included in this tender’s scope. This project will be executed in the Hybrid Annuity Mode (HAM)* under Bharatmala Pariyojana.

Last date to submit bids for this tender is 1st March 2023.

*Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM) refers to a mode of Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) wherein the government and the private player share the project expenses in a 40:60 ratio respectively. After the private player develops the project, it is handed over to the government. The government pays a fixed annuity to the private player for a certain amount of time as defined in the contract.
