Mr. Satish Kumar Takes Over as Chairman & CEO of Railway Board

Mr. Satish Kumar has been appointed as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Railway Board. This information was shared in Ministry of Railways’ PIB release dated 1st September 2024.

Mr. Satish Kumar holds a B.Tech degree in Mechanical Engineering from Malaviya National Institute of Technology (MNIT), Jaipur. He is also a post-graduate diploma holder in Operation Management and Cyber Law from Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU). Mr. Kumar is an officer from 1986 batch of the Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineers.

He began his career with Indian Railways in 1988, with early roles in Jhansi Division of erstwhile Central Railway and at the Diesel Locomotive Works (DLW) in Varanasi. His subsequent positions included service in the North Eastern Railway, Gorakhpur, and Patiala Locomotive Works. He has also held significant roles such as Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) for the Lucknow Division of Northern Railway, General Manager of North Central Railway, and Senior Deputy General Manager and Chief Vigilance Officer of North Western Railway, Jaipur.
