Mr. Ashish Chatterjee Appointed to SAIL Board as Government Director

Mr. Ashish Chatterjee has been appointed as Government Director on the Board of Directors of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL). The company shared this information in its stock exchange filing dated 12th June 2025.

Mr. Chatterjee is a 1999-batch IAS officer from the Tamil Nadu cadre and holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT). He is currently serving as Additional Secretary and Financial Advisor in the Ministry of Steel, a role he assumed in April 2025. He has over 25 years of experience across various roles in both the State and Central governments.

In Tamil Nadu, Mr. Chatterjee served as District Collector of Viluppuram, Kanchipuram, and Tiruvallur districts. At the central level, he held the position of Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas. He has also served as Government Nominee Director on the Boards of GAIL (India) Ltd., IndianOil, and Engineers India Ltd.
