Mitsui to Invest in ReNew Power’s 1,300 MW RTC Project
Mitsui & Co. Ltd., the Japanese general trading and investment firm, will be investing in ReNew Power’s Round The Clock (RTC) Renewable Energy (RE) project. In an RTC Renewable Energy project, energy storage facilities are provided along with the project’s energy generation facility to reduce power supply fluctuations.
ReNew Power had signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) in 2021 to supply 440 MW RTC energy. For this, ReNew Power shall be installing three wind farms and one solar plus battery storage farm with an aggregate capacity of 1,300 MW and 100 MWh of battery storage.
These farms will be across Rajasthan, Karnataka, and Maharashtra. This project shall start operations in the last calendar quarter of 2023. ReNew Power will undertake EPC, Operations & Maintenance, and project management for the RTC project.
