Mahanadi Coalfields to set up 50 MW Solar Plant in Odisha
Mahanadi Coalfields Ltd. (MCL), an arm of Coal India Limited, has planned to set up a 50 MW solar power plant in the Sambalpur district of Odisha.
The plant will be built with an investment of ₹ 301.92 crore and it will be set up for captive consumption of Mahanadi Coalfields, Odisha.
Mahanadi Coalfields has placed an order with a Chennai-based firm to establish this plant. The time-line for completion of this solar power plant is 10 months.
Mahanadi Coalfields has set a target of installing 182 MW of solar power by 2024 in order to become a net-zero emissions energy company, and this solar power plant is in line with this vision.
