L&T’s Transmission & Distribution Business Wins Major Orders

Larsen & Toubro’s (L&T) Power Transmission and Distribution (T&D) business has secured multiple orders in India and overseas, worth a total value between Rs. 5,000 crore to Rs. 10,000 crore.

In India, L&T has won orders to develop two floating solar power projects with a combined generation capacity of 150 MW. Additionally, the company will establish a ground-mounted solar power project of 120 MW power generation capacity.

Furthermore, L&T has secured orders for laying 765 KV transmission lines and establishing a Gas Insulated (GIS) substation for integration of solar energy zones in Rajasthan and Karnataka with the grid. As per L&T’s press release dated 8th May 2024, these transmission lines will supply RE from these solar energy zones to ‘load centres in various parts of the country’.

In Kuwait, L&T has won an order to establish a 400 KV GIS substation for powering residential clusters within the South Sabah Al-Ahmad City project. Further, L&T has won orders in Oman for laying a 400 KV overhead transmission line and establishing two 400 KV grid stations. Apart from this, the company has secured orders to establish two 132 KV Substations with associated works in the United Arab Emirates.
