L&T’s Metals and Minerals Business Secures AM/NS’ Orders worth over 7,000 Cr.
Larsen & Toubro, the Indian EPC major, stated in a press release dated 7th December 2022 that its Minerals and Metals business (M&M) has secured orders from ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS), collectively valued over Rs. 7,000 crore.
Scope of work for L&T’s M&M business includes installation of two blast furnaces of 3.5 Million Metric Tonnes Per Annum (MMTPA) capacity each at AM/NS’ Hazira steel plant on an EPC basis. L&T will carry out the supply, construction and installation operations associated with these two blast furnaces concurrently, in a phased manner.
L&T will also install a 6 MMTPA Steel Melt Shop at Hazira, entailing the detailed design and engineering for the plant, and the supply of required items for its construction. Scope of work here includes developing the plant layout, and installation of the Steel-making facility, secondary metallurgy unit, and slab casting unit concurrently.
L&T’s Minerals and Metals business will also be setting up an Iron Ore beneficiation unit at Sagasahi, Odisha on an EPC basis.
