L&T’s Hydrocarbon Business Wins Order Worth 1,000 Cr. to 2,500 Cr. in Mumbai

Larsen & Toubro Energy Hydrocarbon’s (also known as L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering, LTEH or LTHE) Advanced Value Engineering and Technology (AdVENT) business vertical has received an order valued between Rs. 1,000 crore and Rs. 2,500 crore for developing a fertilizer plant for Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers Limited (RCF). This plant will be developed at RCF’s Thal unit in the Raigad district of Maharashtra.

Scope of work in this order involves engineering, procurement, and construction of a Nitrogen, Phosphorus, and Potassium (NPK) fertilizer plant with a capacity of 1,200 Metric Tonnes Per Day (MTPD). L&T will also obtain necessary licences for this plant and manage execution of other related works.

Commenting on this order win, Mr. Subramanian Sarma, Larsen &Toubro’s Whole-Time Director and President (Energy) said “This order reaffirms L&T’s dedication to supporting the Indian government’s Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative, which aims to enhance the nation’s self-reliance in fertilizers”.

Mr. R Shankar Raman, L&T’s President, during an interview with CNBC-TV18 dated 7th October 2024, shared his positive outlook on the company’s order guidance of Rs. 3.33 lakh crore for the year, while also recognizing the difficulties presented by the global economic climate. He added, “We’re aiming for a 10% growth, and so far, the trends look promising. However, project orders can fluctuate, so we’ll see how it unfolds”.
