L&T Construction Bags Order from Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited
The construction arm of L&T has secured an order valued between INR 1,000 to 2,500 Cr. from Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL). The order is to construct the main plant civil works for Kudankulam 5 & 6 units.
As per L&T’s press release dated 18th February 2021, scope of work includes “construction of the Reactor Building, Reactor Auxiliary Building, Turbine Building, Diesel Generator Building and other Safety Related Structures“. The timeline for execution of work is 64 months.
Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant is India’s first Light Water Reactor of 6 units with a generation capacity of 1000 MW each.
