JSW Neo Energy to Set-up 300 MW Wind-Solar Hybrid Project for NTPC

JSW Neo Energy Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of JSW Energy Ltd., has received a Letter of Award (LoA) from NTPC Limited for setting up 300 MW wind-solar hybrid power project in India. This information was shared by JSW Energy in its stock filing dated 23rd August 2024.

JSW Neo Energy Secured this order through Tariff Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) process in NTPC’s auction. Bidding for this project had been conducted under tranche-VI of scheme titled, ‘Selection of hybrid power generators for supply of 1,000 MW power from ISTS-connected wind-solar hybrid power projects anywhere in India’.

With this project win, JSW Energy’s power generation portfolio stands at 16.7 GW, which includes 2.6 GW of hybrid power generation capacity. The company is expected to increase its installed power generation capacity to 10 GW from the current 7.5 GW.

Earlier in July 2024, JSW Neo Energy had received an order from Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited for setting up a 192 MW Hybrid Power project. The company had also won a 300 MW Hybrid Power Project from Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) Ltd. in June 2024.
