JSW Energy Receives LoA to Develop 700 MW Solar Power for SJVN

JSW Neo Energy Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of JSW Energy, has received a Letter of Award (LoA) from SJVN Ltd. for the development of 700 MW of Inter-state Transmission System (ISTS)-connected solar power generation capacity. This information was shared by JSW Energy in its stock filing dated 27th February 2024, however, the company did not specify the number of solar projects to be developed in this order. The company has secured this order via Tariff Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) under SJVN’s tender for developing 1,500 MW ISTS-connected solar power projects in India.

As per the LoA, JSW Neo Energy is required to supply the full contracted capacity within 24 months from the date of signing the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA). With this order win, the company’s portfolio stands at 11 GW, which comprises operational projects, under-construction projects, and projects for which LoAs have been signed. These projects span solar, wind, thermal and hydro power segments.
