Jakson Engineers Ltd., part of the Noida-headquartered Jakson Group, will be investing Rs. 2,000 crore to expand its solar cell and module manufacturing capacity.

Greenfield 2.5 GW Solar Cell Plant, Expansion of PV Module Facility to 2 GW

New Solar Cell Plant to Come Up in 2 Phases

Jakson Engineers’ investment will be directed at establishing a greenfield 2.5 GW per annum solar cell plant which will be developed in two phases. The first phase of this new plant is expected to be commissioned in the coming 15 months. However, the location for Jakson’s solar cell plant has not been finalised yet.

Mercom India’s report dated 5th September 2024 states that this facility will produce TopCon PhotoVoltaic (PV) cells, however, the company will keep the plant technology agnostic. This measure would enable Jakson Group to incorporate other emerging solar cell technologies.
