ITD Cementation Emerges L1 Bidder for Kolkata Metro Civil Contract

ITD Cementation has been declared as the Lowest (L1) bidder for executing construction works on a 3.59 Km section of Kolkata Metro’s Line-4. The company had submitted a bid of Rs. 1,097.23 crore for this project against Kolkata Metro’s estimate of Rs. 1,330.47 crore for this project.

Scope of work as per Kolkata Metro’s tender for this project includes designing and construction of Reinforced Cement Concrete (RCC) metro tunnel for two metro stations, namely Birati and Michael Nagar. This tunnel will not be constructed using Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM), and will instead be built by RCC box pushing method. Construction of Birati metro station’s underground building with respective subways and entry/exit structures is also included in the scope of work. Birati metro station will be constructed using cut & cover method. Further, associated works including architectural finishing, water supply, sanitary installations, Electrical & Mechanical (E&M) services, Ballastless Track (BLT) works, and installation of power supply system with 750 V DC traction system will be executed from Chainage (Ch.) : 6.250 Km to Ch: 9.840 Km (i-e, for a length of 3.59 Km) on Line-4 of Kolkata metro.

A completion period of 910 days (2.5 years) from the date of receiving the Letter of Award (LoA) has been specified for these works.
