Hindustan Zinc Reports Highest-Ever Q1 Mined Metal Production
Hindustan Zinc Limited (HZL), a part of the Vedanta group, has reported its highest-ever Q1 mined metal production during FY26. The company shared this information in its production release dated 2nd July 2025.
The company recorded mined metal output of 265 Kilo Tonnes (KT) in Q1 of FY26 against 263 KT in Q1 of FY25. The company is in process of expanding its mining and production operations. Hindustan Zinc had recently announced its plan to invest Rs. 12,000 crore to expand its Zinc production capacity by 250 Kilo Tonne Per Annum (KTPA). This includes development of an integrated Zinc complex in Debari, Rajasthan, with an investment of Rs. 6,200 crore. The new complex will increase HZL’s total metal production capacity to approximately 1.35 Million Metric Tonnes Per Annum (MMTPA). In addition to the Debari complex, the company will invest Rs. 5,800 crore to expand its Zinc mining and milling operations, adding 4.6 MMTPA to its ore production capacity.
Also, the company is targeting to double its total metal production capacity to 2 MMTPA by 2030 with an estimated total investment of Rs. 32,000-35,000 crore. This investment will be done in phases and include Zinc, Lead, and Silver production.
