HFCL Q1 FY26 Financial Performance: Revenue Down 25%, Company Reports Loss

Himachal Futuristic Communications Ltd. (HFCL) [NSE: HFCL, BOM: 500183], an Indian manufacturing company of Optical Fibre Cables (OFCs), has announced its financial results for Q1 of FY26.

HFCL reported a standalone revenue of Rs. 789.28 crore and loss of Rs. 42.34 crore during Q1 FY26.

On consolidated basis, the company earned a revenue of Rs. 871.02 crore during initial quarter of FY26 against Rs. 1,158.24 crore in Q1 of FY25. These figures indicate a 24.80% Year-over-Year (YoY) decline in the company’s revenue. During Q1 FY26, the company reported loss of Rs. 29.30 crore against Profit After Tax (PAT) of Rs. 110.65 crore in first quarter of FY25.

Loss per share of the company were Rs. 0.22 in Q1 FY26 as compared to Earnings Per Share (EPS) of Rs. 0.77 during Q1 FY25.
Quarterly Comparison of HFCL Financials: Q1 FY26 vs. Q4 FY25
The company’s revenue from operations increased by 8.78% Quarter-over-Quarter (QoQ) during Q1 of FY26 from Rs. 800.72 crore during Q4 of FY25. HFCL’ loss showed a decrease of 64.83% in opening quarter of FY26 over Q4 of FY25, which was Rs. 83.30 crore.

Telecom Products: The company’s revenue from Telecom Products segment decreased by 18.76% to Rs. 577.91 crore in Q1 FY26 against Rs. 711.36 crore during Q1 FY25.
Turnkey Contracts and Solutions: This segment of the company brought in a revenue of Rs. 293.11 crore during Q1 of FY26 against Rs. 446.38 crore during Q1 of FY25, representing that the company’s revenue decreased by 34.34% on YoY basis.
Management Insights on HFCL’s Q1 FY26 Financial Performance
Commenting on the performance, Mr. Mahendra Nahata, Managing Director, HFCL, said, “Q1 FY26 has set a strong foundation for what we believe will be a breakout year for HFCL, with 66% of our revenue coming from the product segment and exports contributing 24% to the total revenue. We expect this positive momentum to continue and strengthen in the upcoming quarters”.
HFCL’s Order Book of Over Rs. 10,000 Cr.
HFCL’s order book at the end of Q1 FY26 stood at Rs. 10,480 crore, which is 54.66% higher than Rs. 6,776 crore of order book at the end of Q1 FY25. Most of HFCL’s order book is formed by government orders, which amount to Rs. 8,546 crore. Private sector orders constitute the remaining Rs. 1,934 crore worth of orders in the company’s order book.
