Haier to Invest Rs. 7,400 Crore in New Manufacturing Plant in India
Haier Appliances India Pvt. Ltd. has announced an investment of Rs. 7,400 crore for the development of a new manufacturing plant in India. This upcoming Fast-Moving Electrical Goods (FMEG) facility is expected to be the company’s largest manufacturing unit in the country upon completion.
As of April 2026, the exact location of the plant has not been finalized. The company is currently in advanced stages of evaluating suitable land parcels across southern and western regions of India.
Haier’s New India Plant: Product Portfolio, Phased Investment and Job Creation Plan
The project will be executed in two phases. Out of the total planned investment, Rs. 3,900 crore will be allocated to the first phase, while Rs. 3,500 crore will be invested in the second phase. According to Mr. NS Satish, President of Haier Appliances India, the first phase is expected to become operational by 2029.
The initial phase of the project is also expected to generate employment for approximately 4,000 to 5,000 people.
In addition to this development, the company is working on setting up a new air conditioner manufacturing plant in Noida. This facility is expected to be operational by December 2026.
Haier India Expansion Strategy Driving Revenue Growth and Export Focus
The planned expansion aligns with Haier India’s target of achieving Rs. 22,000 crore in revenue by 2028. The company expects demand for air conditioners, televisions, and refrigerators to contribute significantly to this growth. Washing machines and LED televisions are currently among the key growth drivers, while demand for air conditioners is anticipated to increase in the coming months following a delayed summer season.
Commenting on the company’s export presence, Mr. NS Satish stated that Haier continues to focus on markets such as Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and select regions in the Middle East. He emphasized the importance of scaling operations to remain competitive with global manufacturing hubs, including China.
