Greater Noida Gears Up for Multi-Modal Logistics Hub, Tender Floated
A multi-modal logistics hub will be developed under Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) project at Bodaki, near Dadri in Greater Noida. Integrated Industrial Township Greater Noida Limited (IITGNL) has recently floated tender for the development of this hub, which has a total developmental cost of Rs. 5,881 crore.
Project Gains Key Approval, SPV Formed
This project will be developed by a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV), namely DMIC Integrated Industrial Township Greater Noida Limited (DMIC IITGNL). This SPV will be jointly formed (50-50 ownership) by Central Government’s National Industrial Corridor Development and Implementation Trust (NICDIT) and UP Government’s Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA). This Multi-Modal Logistics Hub project will be developed in a Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) model and will be co-ordinated by this SPV.
Detailed project report (DPR) was prepared and submitted by PricewaterhouseCoopers Pvt. Ltd. (PwC) and Balaji Railroad Systems Limited (BARSYL) in 2020. This project was granted environmental clearance in April 2023 and approved by Public-Private-Partnership Appraisal Committee (PPAC) in May 2025.
Tender Issued for Greater Noida Logistics Hub
As per the tender floated for this logistics hub, it will be developed under Design, Build, Finance, Operate, and Transfer (DBFOT) model, with bid submission deadline on 6th February 2026. The bids will be opened on 9th February.
Multiple Facilities for Freight & Cargo Handling
This Multi-Modal Logistics Hub will be built over 334 ha of land. An approach track will be built on an area of 29 ha. This project includes construction of 19 Brick & Mortar warehouses, 5 Bonded warehouses, 3 Stuffing warehouses, 1 De-stuffing warehouse and track-side bulk warehouses. Cement and steel unloaded from trains will be stored in track-side warehouses. This project also includes construction of 6 cold storage facilities for goods requiring refrigeration. This logistics hub will also have facilities for handling containerised cargo and bulk cargo and will comprise of other value-added services such as packing zones and ancillary services.
Loading Unloading Yards at the hub will have a total of 12 lines of which there will be 7 Export-Import (EXIM) lines, 1 Domestic line, 2 lines dedicated for handling cement bulk cargo, and 2 lines for handling Iron/Steel cargo. Additionally, Reception & Dispatch yard will have 5 lines and Train Examination Yards will have 3 Examination lines.
Logistics Hub to Provide Ease of Connectivity
Project plan includes construction of railway siding and long haul tracks and also a spur line (approach track) that will help in connecting Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor (EDFC) and the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (WDFC) at Dadri yard. This project will also provide connectivity to the Jewar Airport, i.e., to be opened in late 2025.
DMIC’s Target to Boost Industrial Productivity
Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) is a large-scale infrastructure project that connects Delhi to Mumbai. This corridor targets to boost industrial productivity; it stretches approximately 1,504 Km connecting six states, namely, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, and Maharashtra. The end terminals of this corridor are Dadri in Delhi NCR and Jawaharlal Nehru Port near Mumbai.
