GE Vernova Allocates Rs. 140 Cr. to Expand Power Equipment Manufacturing in India
GE Vernova has announced a CapEx of Rs. 140 crore to expand its manufacturing and engineering capabilities in India. This investment will be made by GE Vernova T&D India Ltd., a subsidiary of GE Vernova.
GE Vernova’s aforementioned investment includes new manufacturing line at the company’s existing facility in Pallavaram, Chennai, and the development of a new engineering and testing facility in Noida. The new manufacturing line at Chennai facility will manufacture Line Commutated Converter (LCC) High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) valves and Voltage Source Converter (VSC) Static Synchronous Compensator (STATCOM) valves.
The company’s Noida testing lab is scheduled to begin operations by the end of 2025, while the aforementioned production line in Chennai is expected to be operational by early 2027.
Commenting on this investment, Mr. Sandeep Zanzaria, Managing Director & CEO of GE Vernova T&D India, said, “Through this investment, we are strengthening our ability to deliver technologies that help utilities move more power, with fewer losses, over longer distances and do it more sustainably”.
GE Vernova T&D India currently operates five manufacturing facilities across the country and has served the Indian grid for over 100 years.
