GE to Provide Gas Turbine Digital Solutions for Indian Navy’s Aircraft Carrier
General Electric’s (GE) Indian subsidiary, GE India Industrial Pvt. Ltd. (GEIIPL) will be providing digital solutions for GE-made LM2500 marine gas turbines installed in the Indian Navy’s IAC-1 Vikrant. This vessel is an Indigenous Aircraft Carrier (IAC) which was commissioned in August 2022.
GE’s digital solutions will include GE’s SmartSignal solution which will foresee any potential equipment damage and give early indications and warnings regarding the same. GE will be employing its proprietary predictive analysis using a ‘digital twin’ of the aircraft carrier’s gas turbine engine. This will enable accurate prediction for the smooth functioning of IAC-1 Vikrant’s gas turbines.
