Finolex Cables Reports 35% Increase in Annual Total Income During FY22, PAT up 30%
Finolex Cables Limited [NSE: FINCABLES, BOM: 500144], an Indian manufacturer of cables and FMEG products, has reported its financial results for the last quarter of 2021-2022.

YoY Comparison of Finolex Cables’ Results: Q4 FY-21 vs Q4 FY-22 & FY-21 vs FY-22
The company’s total income during the quarter ended 31st March 2022 was Rs 1,206.80 crore, which is 28.74% higher than Rs 937.38 crore reported for Q4 of FY-21.
Profit After Tax (PAT) of the company rose by 33.93% YoY to Rs 224.47 crore for Q4 of FY-22 from Rs 167.59 crore recorded during the same period in FY-21.
For the entire fiscal year, the total income increased by 34.95% to Rs 3,839.56 crore recorded during FY-22 from Rs 2,845.10 crore for FY-21.
PAT for 2021-2022 was Rs 599.14 crore, showing a 29.83% increase from Rs 461.46 during 2020-2021.
QoQ Comparison of Finolex Cables’ Results: Q3 FY-22 vs Q4 FY-22
Finolex Cables’ total income exhibited an upward trajectory to Rs 1,206.80 crore during Q4 of 2021-2022 from Rs 991.54 crore clocked for Q3 FY22. This translates to a 21.70% increase.
PAT from Q3 to Q4 of FY-22 also went up by an impressive 56.97%, to Rs 224.47 crore from Rs 143 crore.
Comparison of Finolex Cables’ Segment-wise Consolidated Financials
Electrical Cables: The major chunk of the company’s revenue comes from its electrical cables segment, totalling Rs 1,025.47 for Q4 of FY-22, and Rs 3,193.21 crore for the entire FY-22. A YoY comparison shows that Q4 revenue from this segment shot up by 37.33% from FY-21 to FY-22.
For the entire year, this segment showed an increase of 38.23% in revenue from Rs 2,309.98 crore recorded during 2020-2021.
From Q3 to Q4 of 2021-2022, there was an increase of 24.08% in revenues from the electrical cables segment.
Communication Cables: Comparing the YoY revenue from this segment, there was a decrease of 18.87% to Rs 103.34 crore in the fourth quarter of FY-22 from Rs 127.39 crore recorded for Q4 of FY-21. For the whole year, revenue from this segment was Rs 379.75 crore during FY-22 in comparison to Rs 321.47 crore for FY-21. This translates to a 18.12% increase.
QoQ, the company’s revenue from Communication Cables rose by 12.32% to Rs 103.34 crore in Q4 of FY-22 from Rs 92 crore in Q3 of FY-22.
Copper Rods: Finolex Cables’ Copper rods segment contributed Rs 302.11 crore in revenue during Q4 of 2021-2022, and Rs 682.47 crore during the entire fiscal. There has been a YoY increase of 90.42% in the Q4 revenue from this segment from FY-21 to FY-22. For the entire fiscal year, revenue from copper rods has gone up by 18.85% from FY-21 to FY-22.
Quarter-wise comparison shows that from Q3 to Q4 of FY-22, the revenue from this segment increased by 65.38%.
Others: This segment of Finolex Cables Ltd. includes FMEG, switchgear and conduit pipes. The ‘others’ segment contributed Rs 51.68 crore to the company’s revenue during quarter ended 31st March 2022, and Rs 176.36 crore in the entire FY-22.
A YoY comparison shows that Q4 revenue from this segment rose by 31.4% from FY-21 to FY-22. Annual revenue went up by 55.21% from FY-21 to FY-22 with regard to this segment.
Quarter-wise, from Q3 to Q4 of FY-22, revenue from the ‘others’ segment increased by 4.17%.
