Dr. Shekhar C. Mande to be Appointed Additional Director of Tata Steel
Dr. Shekhar C. Mande has been approved by the Board of Directors of Tata Steel Limited to be appointed as Additional Director of the company from 1st June 2023. His official term will last till 31st May 2028. This information was given by Tata Steel in a stock filing dated 27th May 2023.
Dr. Mande holds a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree in Physics from Nagpur University. He completed Phd in Molecular Biophysics from Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in 1991. He started his career as a Senior Fellow at University of Washington in 1992 and then joined Institute of Microbial Technology as a Scientist in 1995. Dr. Mande has also worked at National Centre for Cell Science, Pune, and Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics, Hyderabad. Thereafter, he was appointed as Director General of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) in October 2018 and worked there for 3 years. Currently, he is working as a Distinguished Professor at Savitribai Phule Pune University since October 2022.
