Diamond Power Upgrades Its Vadodara High-Voltage Testing Lab

Diamond Power Infrastructure Limited has re-commissioned its Extra High Voltage (EHV) testing laboratory in Vadodara after its upgradation. This information was shared by the company in a stock exchange filing dated 26th June 2025.

DICABS’ laboratory is now equipped to test cables and systems up to 400 KV. It supports various types of tests including High Voltage Partial Discharge (HVPD) testing for cables up to 400 KV, AC High Voltage Testing up to 1,000 KVA, and impulse testing up to 1,200 KV / 2,400 Kilo Joule (KJ). The lab is also capable of conducting heating cycle tests to ensure performance and reliability of power cables and electrical equipment over temperature fluctuations.

Diamond Power’s release also mentioned that the aforementioned lab has received accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL). NABL certification represents a key standard for testing and quality assurance in India.

Commenting on this development, Mr. Krishna K. Thakur, Vice President of Diamond Power (Quality Control) said, “…with NABL accreditation, we have not only met but exceeded the national benchmark”. Mr. Thakur added, “…. this lab will ensure substantial reduction in testing charges and faster delivery of materials to our customers”.
