Cryolor Expands Cryogenic Tank Production Facility in Tamil Nadu

Cryolor Asia Pacific Pvt. Ltd., the Indian subsidiary of French-based Cryolor, inaugurated Phase-II of its cryogenic liquified gas tanks manufacturing facility at Madurantakam, Tamil Nadu. Mr. Thierry Mathou, the French ambassador to India, inaugurated the new addition to Cryolor’s plant.

Prior to this expansion, Cryolor Asia Pacific’s production capacity stood at about 400 tanks per year. With the commissioning of Phase-II of the facility, output from Cryolor’s Tamil Nadu facility will be increased, however, the increase in production has not been specified. With the addition of Phase-II, about 90 more employment opportunities will be created at Cryolor’s Tamil Nadu plant. These tanks can store gases such as Nitrogen, Hydrogen, Oxygen, Argon, Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and Argon, and therefore cater to different sectors such as health, electronics and energy.

Earlier in July 2021, the company had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Tamil Nadu government, committing an investment of approximately Rs. 70 crore in the state.
