CONCOR’s Rs 500 Cr Multi-Modal Logistics Park to be Inaugurated by July

Container Corporation of India (CONCOR), the Indian Railways-owned logistics PSU, is in the process of developing a Rs 500 crore Multi-Modal Logistics Park (MMLP) in Gujarat, which is set to be inaugurated by the second week of July 2022.

This MMLP will be developed on 150 acres of land near Varnama railway station, which is about 20 Km from Vadodara. This facility will be CONCOR’s first Gati Shakti Multi Modal Cargo Terminal. PM Gati Shakti is an Indian Government national plan which was launched on 13th October 2021 for developing multi-modal connectivity to various Economic Zones.

So far Rs 350 crore has been spent by CONCOR on the project, and work worth Rs 150 crore remains to be done. The work remaining on the project includes establishing connectivity of the upcoming MMLP to the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC) which passes through Vadodara, and the development of the approach road. An Inland Container Depot (ICD) spread across 7.20 acre of land is also being developed as a part of this project at Varnama.
