CESL Floats 5,000 Cr. Tender for 4,675 e-Buses
Convergence Energy Services Ltd. (CESL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Energy Efficiency Services Ltd. (EESL), has invited bids for the selection of operators for 4,675 electric buses to be deployed under National Electric Bus Programme (NEBP). The estimated cost of this tender has been pegged at Rs. 5,000 crore.
Selected operators will be dry-leasing* e-buses to STUs (State Transport Utilities) in Delhi, Telangana and Kerala. Delhi will deploy 2,400 e-buses, while Telangana and Kerala will deploy 775 and 1,500 e-buses respectively.
Nine-metre standard floor AC, and Twelve-metre low floor and standard floor, non-AC and AC electric buses are covered under this tender.
The last date for submission of bids under this tender is 20th February 2023.
*Dry-leasing of e-buses means that operators will own the buses which will be leased to the State Transport Corporations (STCs) without any drivers and conductors. The concerned STCs will be paying these e-bus operators on a monthly basis in exchange for maintenance operations.
